Dolphins (Year 4) 2020 - 2021

Welcome to Dolphins Class page!

Welcome back to Term 4! This term, we are going to start of with a Wellbeing topic for a couple of weeks and do lots of English and expressive art - have a look at the documents section to see what we will be covering in more detail. Then, when everyone is back at school from 8th March, we will be kicking off with our Crime & Punishment topic! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me via email (dolphins@guston.kent.sch.uk) or at drop off/collection for a quick, socially-distanced chat.

Reading Books

The children will have a reading book and record that goes to and from school as usual. The expectation is that children read at home at least three times per week and we will start to focus more on comprehension and understanding of vocabulary, as well as reading and decoding. If you could sign their reading record to let us know that they have read to an adult, that would be great! Also, it's lovely to hear of any other books they may be reading at home and we have put up a lovely reading display for the children to recommend their favourite books and authors, and share their reading journey.

Times Tables

We will be doing lots of time tables practise at school and any support that you can give at home would be fab. Here are a couple of great websites to practise times tables, with lots of online games and the children should also have their Times Tables Rockstars log-in's so that they can continue with that at home too. This will also be a regular part of their homework and I'll post the links on the homework page too.
