Seahorses (Year 1) 2020 - 2021

Welcome to Term 4!

Hello and welcome to term 4! Mrs Bulpitt, Mrs Thapa, Mrs Plumb and I are so excited to start the new term with our Seahorses. Our Geography theme this term is 'What a Wondeful World.' The children will learn about the seven continents and five oceans. They will develop global awarness and build on their map skills. Take a look at the Term 4 Learning Journey to see what else the children will be learning about.

Class information:

PE- PE will be on Monday and Wednesday afternoons this term. Please ensure that your child comes to school wearing their PE kit on these days. The PE kit is a school shirt, navy shorts and plimsoles or trainers. When the weather gets colder the children may need their joggers or sweatshirts to keep warm! We will be trying to get outside for every session.

Reading: Please could you listen to your child read as much a possible! We will be changing their books on Mondays and Fridays. Once you have read with them, please could you sign their reading record, so we know that they have read. We will also be sending home ‘Sammy the Seahorse’ with one child every weekend. If you take Sammy home could you read a story with him and then encourage your child to write or draw about the book they shared. This could include their favourite part or their favourite character. We will share what they have written with the class. Thank you!

Home learning: Phonics and maths home learning will be sent out on Fridays. The work will be in the children’s reading packets. Thank you for your support.

Please let me know if you have any questions- I am always here for a chat.
