D&T Project- Christmas Stockings

Lesson: Design and technology

Class: Sycamore Class (Year 1) Year: 2020 - 2021

1.The children had their first D&T lesson today. They had a look at some christmas stockings and discussed what they liked and disliked about the design. They spoke about what christmas stockings were used for. They found out that we will be having a go at making our own stockings this term.

2. In the second D&T lesson we designed our christmas stockings.

3. Next, we began cutting out our templates and using them on red felt. The children were really careful. 

4.The children began sewing their stockings, they learnt how to do running stitch. 

5. We decorated the stockings as part of out decoration day fun! The children are very proud of their sparkly stockings!
