Physical 15

There is lots of research to suggest that regular exercise makes primary school children more active, less sedentary and improves their fitness and body composition. There are also many links to suggest that an active lifestyle is directly linked to academic ability and improved progress in school.

Therefore we are introducing a new element to our curriculum ‘Physical 15’.  Straight after assembly at 9.10am the whole school will be active for 15 minutes. They will make their way around the playground and field and complete as many laps as they can in whatever method they want to; they can walk, run, jog, hop or skip. The only rule is they must keep moving in a forward motion for the 15 minutes they are given.

After this, rejuvenated and ready for the day ahead, we will head in for our first lesson.

Our first Physical 15 was fun!
