Forest School- Year 1
Class: Paddington Class (Y1/2) Year: 2024 - 2025
28.02.25 We learned the three forest school rules, 'too look after ourselves, look after eachother and look after the forest.' Some of the children went on a colour hunt around the forest or had to find objects that were smooth, rough, long or small. They collected the objects in egg boxes. They also enjoyed the mud kitchen, clmbing trees and looking at bugs in our bug hotel.
07.03.25 This week we made two different types of bird feeders. We threaded cheerios onto pipe cleaners and hung them in the trees. We filled egg boxes up with bird seed too. Children also enjoyed free time in the forest using the mud kitchen, digging in the ground and playing games.
14.03.25 We used potato peelers to whittle forest gnomes. We decorated their hats and faces!
21.03.25 We made homes for our gnomes! The children were very creative with some of their houses having slides, swiming pools and swings! We also toasted marshmallows on the fire.
28.03.25 We made bird feeders with tubes, honey, seeds and string! The children also enjoyed bug hunting, carried on building their gnome homes and climbed trees. They also practiced something called 'Sit Spot' which is when you take some time to be spiritual and reflect in nature.
