Compassion

A variety of Bible stories have been used to demonstrate our Christian Value of Compassion.  These include:

Jesus heals the leper –  Matthew 8:1-4; Mark 1:40-45; Luke 5:12-16

The Good Samaritan – Luke 10: 25-37

Nepalese Earthquake Appeal

The school council asked to raise money for those affected by the Nepalese earthquake. We had a ‘Nepal Day’ to raise funds, where the children dressed in either traditional Nepalese dress or in the colours of the flag.  Money raised was donated to the Gurkha Welfare Trust who worked with a range of charities supporting people in affected areas. Remembrance Day

With such a high proportion of our school community being linked with the Services, this annual event is very important to our pupils. We have a Remembrance Day service where parents and friends of the school are invited to join us in a minute silence at 11am.  Older pupils lead this service and prayers are written by all children.

E-Bluey Club

During deployment, we run ‘E-Bluey Club’ to allow families of Service personnel to email, fax and write to their Dads or husbands while they are in Afghanistan. We believe this is one of the features that makes our school unique and helps to strengthen the bonds that join us together as a ‘community family’.

Charity Work

The children also routinely raise money for others less fortunate than themselves.
